Fathers Day Weekend June 16 - 19, 2011

We hope you had a great time at this year's Sound of Music Festival! With record numbers and fantastic weather, it was our most successful Festival to date.

If you have any video footage or fantastic photographs you'd like to share, please send them to photos@soundofmusic.ca . Check out our official Facebook fan page too!

Burlington's Sound of Music Festival has been nominated as one of the top 100 Festivals in Canada through Westjet. Every vote counts, you can help us win! http://www.westjetfestivals.com/festivals/sound-music-festival

Fireworks update: For those who joined us for Fireworks on Saturday night and wondered about the interruptions, the heavy wind and rain between 8:00 and 8:40 pm caused a mis-fire at the beginning of the show.  Some of the fireworks did not go off as planned.  Our fireworks company has promised to make it up to us next year and make it a spectacular show!

Concerned about our environment?  WE ARE!  Our Eco Team is always hard at work planning to make our Festival even more successful by dramatically reducing its ecological footprint - such as - encouraging our visitors to take our shuttle bus or ride their bike.  We also will be manually sorting tons of garbage into compost and recycling - so we ask you to place your waste in the right place!   For more info click here for our Simply Green Program.

Our Festival only remains FREE only because of community minded volunteers.  So if you've enjoyed our Festival why not help out.

Imagine a broad spectrum of music - It truly has SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE! Jazz, Rock, Folk, Pop, Blues, Latin, Big Band, Celtic, Country, Children and "Unusual" Acts and Artisans - spread out over 10 performance areas along our beautiful picturesque waterfront, Spencer Smith Park and throughout downtown Burlington.

Some of our past performers include Tom Cochrane, The Stills, USS, Divine Brown, Matt Dusk, Robert Michaels, Cowboy Junkies, Ronnie Hawkins, Natalie MacMaster, Glass Tiger, Trooper, Leahy, Michael Burgess, Serena Ryder, Jim Cuddy Band, Finger Eleven, Molly Johnson, David Wilcox, 54-40, Kim Mitchell, Valdy, The Philosopher Kings, Tomi Swick, Kim Stockwood, The Good Brothers, Marc Jordan, Sloan, Tom Wilson, Murray McLauchlan, Spirit of the West, and The Trews, just to name a few. (Did we mention this is FREE?).

Voted one of the Top 100 Festivals in Ontario (10th year in a row), Burlington's Sound of Music Festival is one of the summer's most sought after shows. Featuring a unique blend of new and emerging artists, Canadian icons and favourites of the past this unique Festival presents all styles of music appealing to all ages!

MOST IMPORTANT…

We NEED TO SEE YOU HERE! On an annual basis our Sound Of Music Festival draws over 190,000 attendees from across Canada and the United States. Plan now to come out and be part of one of Canada's Largest FREE Outdoor Music Festivals and Burlington's premier summer event.
