The Park, The Pier and The Old Freeman Station

On the Move...We Hope...

For a few years, the Pier and East Park have been under construction. The Festival is anxious to start using the East Park again. Currently under review is our request to move the worksite hording by 13' to allow a proper access alley to the East. Besides a logistical access, the alley will allow people to attend a planned relocation of the Burlington Hyundai Community Stage therefore easing congestion at its 2009 location between the Carnival and Playground areas. The new site will allow for better staging, an improved layout and expanded lineup.

The old Freeman Train Station is to be moved from its temporary storage area behind the Fairview Fire Hall to its new permanent home. One site under consideration is the West end of Spencer Smith Park also known as Beachway Park. If the move to this location is approved, we will continue to meet with the City planning department regarding its layout and positioning. A major goal of the move, to a site such as this, is the potential benefit from its use for activities, events and festivals in the park. We hope that it could be a green room, storage location or volunteer center during the Festival and that its position will not impact the fantastic crowds at the OLG Stage in the West Park.
