Continued from the December 2009 Newsletter
This Festival doesn't come together easily without a huge amount of dedicated and loyal work. We always hear ... How can you present all this great music for Free? Who runs this event – it is so well run?
Sponsors generous contributions of funds and in-kind services have been the major reason the Festival has been able to bring the tremendous amount of great talent from local to international recording artists. Last year there was a record 90 acts playing at 10 performance areas over the 4 days, offering fantastic music for every taste and age. Put your company in front of 190,000 people – if your company or a friend’s, family’s or colleague’s company can sponsor please contact us – Our Become a Sponsor page has more information on why and how to sponsor the festival and be sure to see our current and loyal sponsors.
Volunteers are the backbone of the event with months of planning and thousands of hours of setup and operation to make the Festival fun, safe and entertaining. Welcome to Gerry Murphy, the new Festival president and thank you to James Tuck, past president of two years. Also thanks and welcome goes out to Board members who have left, those who have stayed and new ones joining the Festival. Our Committees are already starting to meet and a number of them are looking for new members. For more voluteering information, please visit the updated Volunteer page and please read the Volunteer committee’s new mini-newsletter available online.
