Burlington’s Sound of Music Festival presents:
Taking It to the Streets
Saturday, June 19 at the Burlington Art Centre (Brock Street and Lakeshore Road)

Burlington’s Sound of Music Festival and our community partners are pleased to bring you this unique music theatre program.  Sign your child up (ages 4-12) today for an interactive, educational workshop and the opportunity to sing and dance.  These workshops will serve as an introduction to drama skills, singing instruction and movement to music theatre songs.

These sessions are FREE and 45 minutes in length. They will be running on the afternoon of Saturday, June 19 at the Burlington Art Centre, space is limited, please contact   to secure your spot. for any of the workshops listed below.
Please include in the email: parent or guardian name, phone number(s) child’s name and age and preferred session. On June 19th you must bring the signed consent form.

Music Theatre Workshop times will be from:

1:00 – 1:45 pm

 

2:00 – 2:45 pm

 

3:00 – 3:45 pm

We also have a FREE visual art workshop for ages 5-12! Paint a crash, splash, whistle, buzz, snap a note . . .
Using water colour crayons, create a mono-print with your interpretation of sound.

Visual Art Workshop times will be from:

1:00 – 1:45 pm ages 5-8

 

2:00 – 2:45 pm ages 9-12

 

3:00 – 3:45 pm ages 5-8

Meet Our Award Winning Team:

Helen Zdriluk developed the award-winning music theatre program at Burlington Central High School.  She is currently artistic director for Centre Stage Productions and has conducted workshops internationally for both students and adults.  In addition to completing a music theatre internship at the Shaw Festival, Helen teaches drama and music theatre at Stars Academy Burlington, drama in education and children’s theatre at Brock University, and collaborative practices at Sheridan College.

Adam Falcone is an award-winning actor and a graduate of the renowned performance program at University of Toronto and Sheridan College.  He is also a certified teacher and a founding member of Centre Stage Production’s educational outreach program.

Sara Jeffries is an award-winning performer who pioneered the music theatre program at M.M. Robinson High School.  She currently teaches music theatre at MMR, at Stars Academy, and through the Centre Stage Productions educational outreach program.

Franci Nicassio, a graduate of the National Ballet of Canada, is the artistic director of Stars Academy for the Performing Arts.  Franci has taught dance and choreographed both locally and provincially, and her music theatre dancers are consistent award-winners at the national level.

Eileen Earnshaw-Borghesan, a multi-talented artist with a professional theatre background, currently teaching visual arts at the BAC.

This is the introductory program to a series we will be holding throughout the year.   • Make music available in the community to all through a unique program of musical education and training including singing and instrument practice and performances

  • >Realize the intrinsic values of community, respect and the goodness of society which are natural outflows of music, education and teamwork
