Taking It to the Streets FREE Music Education Workshops

Support provided by: Burlington’s Sound of Music Festival presents:
“Taking It to the Streets”
Saturday, June 16 at the Burlington Art Centre (Brock Street and Lakeshore Road)

The Sound of Music Festival is pleased to offer the children in our community the opportunity to learn through the Performing Arts.

“Taking it to the Streets” is a Music Education program that we have created and is supported by  our community partners.  Our Music Education program continues to grow and we are looking forward to offering creative opportunities to the children in our community throughout the year. This year we proudly presented Centre Stage Productions “The Sound of Music” on March 25, 2012 at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre. This production provided children and their families a live theatre experience at our beautiful new performing arts centre.  The weekend of this year’s Festival we  are pleased to bring you a unique music education program. On Saturday June 16, 2012, your children will participate in an interactive, educational workshop giving them the opportunity to discover their creative talents through an introduction to drama skills, singing instruction, movement to music theatre songs, guitar and drumming.

These sessions are FREE and 45 minutes in length. They will be running on the afternoon of Saturday, June 16 at the Burlington Art Centre, space is limited, please contact MusicEd@soundofmusic.ca to reserve a spot for your child(ren) in the workshop of your choice and download the registration form.  Music Theatre Workshops will be facilitated by Centre Stage Theatre School,  Drumming Workshops will be taught by Udrum and Guitar Workshops are brought to you by Andrew Brophy.
