MEDIA ACCREDITATION

Thank you for your interest in Sound of Music Festival (SOM). To apply for a Media Pass, please read the policy and guidelines below. Please remember this is only a request and it may not be approved.

YOU MUST SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION BY May 12, 2017.

Please read the following before filling out the accreditation form. This application is for one person only. Each member on your requested coverage team must fill out the application. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

If your application is approved, you will receive complete check-in and on-site details. In order to be considered for press or photo credentials, you MUST BE ON ASSIGNMENT with secured coverage on Sound of Music Festival. Accreditation is non-transferrable.

Accreditation Approval

Accreditation is reserved for working members of the media only. This includes editors, reporters, producers, camera crews, and still photographers. Writing/blogging must be your main professional activity. YouTube, Facebook or Twitter pages/accounts, and personal blogs do not qualify for media accreditation. Personal website writers, fan sites, designers, editors and creators do not qualify for media accreditation. Websites must post original, dated, industry-related news at least once per week. The website content must extend beyond links, forums, personal diaries, opinion or personal analysis.

The SOM reserves the right to deny an applicant a media pass if sufficient credentials are not provided. The SOM reserves the right to modify this policy without public notice and to revoke previously issued Sound of Music Festival accreditation at any time. A history of being previously approved for Media Accreditation at Sound of Music Festival does not guarantee approval or waive the accreditation requirement. Misconduct or misrepresentation of your position, outlet/publication or staff could prevent you and your entire organization from attending future Sound of Music Festival events.

Accreditation will not be granted to: YouTube, Facebook or Twitter pages/accounts, personal blogs, or anyone whose principal purpose for attending Sound of Music Festival is, in our judgment, for reasons other than covering the event as working news media.

A media pass gives you access into the festival, into the press pit and public access areas of backstage only. You will not have access to artists’ lounges, green room, or backstage.

Radio Stations: Please be as specific as possible about your coverage plans, and any on-site broadcasting you wish to do. You are required to supply a post-festival coverage summary, with links to podcasts if applicable.

Freelance Media: All attending media MUST be on assignment, with coverage secured, pitched and approved in advance. We will be contacting your editor to confirm your assignment. You are required to supply a copy of and/or a link to any coverage post festival including but not limited to online articles, podcasts, blog posts.

Photographer On Assignment: Any photographer wishing to apply for a photo pass MUST be on assignment. We will only credential photographers with professional cameras. Non-professional cameras will not be permitted in the photo pits, a policy enforced by security. You are required to supply a copy of and/or a link to any coverage post festival including but not limited to online articles, podcasts, blog posts.

College/Website Photographers: Photo passes for college newspapers and website photographers are extremely limited. Therefore, media MUST be on assignment, with coverage secured, pitched and approved in advance. We will be contacting your editor to confirm your assignment. You are required to supply a copy of and/or a link to any coverage post festival including but not limited to online articles, podcasts, blog posts.
