Burlington ON (April 23, 2010). Burlington's Sound of Music Festival is pleased to announce our 2010 scheduled headliners.
Burlington's Sound of Music Festival features a unique blend of new and emerging artists, Canadian icons and favourites from the past, this year's lineup promises to rock the park; with over 90 Musical Acts, a Grande Festival Parade with more than 20 marching bands, Downtown Streetfest, Family Zone, Carnival and much more.
Starting with a bang, Thursday June 17th Marianas Trench, promises to put on a high energy show (www.marianastrench.net). Marianas Trench will be following Burlington's own, We Are Bravest (www.myspace.com/wearebravest). On the OLG stage we have the most sought after "Tragically Hip" cover-band Practically Hip (www.practicallyhip.com).
Friday evening boasts headliner names such as Jason Collett (www.arts-crafts.ca/jasoncollett), New Brunswick Blues artist Matt Anderson (www.stubbyfingers.ca), and Lighthouse (www.lighthouserockson.com). Appearing on the ArcelorMittal Dofasco stage a special acoustic performance by The Trews (www.thetrewsmusic.com), closing out Friday night.
On Saturday afternoon, Elliott Brood (www.elliottbrood.ca) will bring their Kentucky-hardcore vibes to the Festival, followed by Great Lake Swimmers (www.greatlakeswimmers.com). Making their Festival debut is punk rock group New York Dolls (www.nydolls.org). Be sure to stay for the evening and see Hey Rosetta! (www.heyrosetta.com), and the passion filled meaty-rock performance of Arkells (www.arkells.ca).
Throughout the weekend the poetic Old Man Ludecke (www.oldmanludecke.ca), Alex Cuba (www.alexcuba.com), chanteuse Jill Barber (www.jillbarber.com), Royal Wood (www.royalwood.ca), the heart-melting styling's of Madison Violet (www.madisonviolet.com), Catherine MacLellan (www.catherinemaclellan.com) & David Francey (www.davidfrancey.com)will be performing on our Cogeco Stage, located on Brant Street at Civic Square. Visit the Cogeco Stage to enjoy a different feel to the Festival, while enjoying a café style setup.
Family Zone has a fun filled weekend lined up with acts such as; Sho, Mo & The Monkey Bunch (www.themonkeybunch.com), JUNO award nominee The Bee's Knees (www.thebeeskneesmusic.com) and the ever popular Reptile Party (www.reptileparty.com). Family Zone will also feature Small Potatoes, a member of the popular band Arrogant Worms (www.arrogantworms.com), as well as Music by Jake and Fantasy Fables with a special princess surprise.
Celebrate Fathers Day with us, as we welcome country mega star George Canyon (www.georgecanyon.com), join Moneen (www.moneen.com) on their musical journey and be in the zone with Champion and his G-Strings (www.djchampion.net).

June 17th to 20th will mark Burlington's Sound of Music Festival's 31st year of creating "Four Fabulous Days of Free Music and Fun" along our beautiful picturesque waterfront, Spencer Smith Park, and throughout downtown Burlington. Through the generosity and support of sponsors and the dedication of over 500 volunteers, the Festival continues to be a free event for music lovers of all ages, welcoming close to 190,000 visitors annually.
